AGIS Workshop 2018: Become the Resident Artist at Your School

Many creative people find themselves in the situation where their lives have become too complicated and busy to make their own visual art. This workshop will focus on this issue and encourage the participants to be proactive in finding the time, making the space, and creating their art again. This will make them feel more satisfied and teachers will be more confident in the classroom. They could potentially become the resident artists at their schools.

Participants should bring a copy of their weekly schedule/teaching timetables, a sketchbook (new or used), simple drawing tools, pictures of any visual art they have made to share and a device to search the internet (laptop, tablet, or smartphone).

Outcomes:
The session will help teachers figure out ways to become more active artists inside and outside the classroom. They will leave with a plan that will help them tap into their local art communities. Teachers will be inspired to take small steps that will lead them to exhibit their own visual art.
